Leadership for Healthy Communities, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), awarded up to $2 million in grants to seven organizations representing policy-makers nationwide. 

These two-year grants were awarded to support the organizations in helping communities increase children's access to affordable healthy foods and opportunities for safe physical activity through policy change. The grantees' efforts will concentrate in 15 Southern states, where obesity rates are among the highest in the nation. The organizations receiving RWJF grants of approximately $300,000 include:
