Policy change at the federal, state and local level is essential to reversing the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015. Unfortunately, no single policy change will sufficiently achieve this goal; a range of policies that work to improve both healthy eating and active living among children and families will be necessary.

We will update this section frequently to bring you the latest information about policy action related to childhood obesity. Right now, it focuses primarily on federal legislative action. We also have included links to additional resources and databases related to state and local legislative action. We’ll add more content to this section in the coming months, and we welcome your input regarding what would be most useful.

We also have provided a list of key organizations that are working on related issues. If your organization is not listed but would like to be, please contact us.
