In partnership with ASLME and the RWJ National Program Office for Public Health Law Research at Temple University Beasley School of Law, the Public Health Law Association (PHLA) is pleased to offer a series of "Virtual Seminars."

These monthly seminars, conducted via teleconference and lasting no more than 30 minutes, provide public health lawyers, practitioners, students, and others an opportunity to dialogue on issues of emerging public health law with experts in the field.

The American Public Health Association is sponsoring a discussion with leading experts in the field as they present the rationale for sodium reduction, map out the landscape of current strategies and activities to address the problem, and discuss the recommendations of the newly released report by the Institute of Medicine.

The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies is releasing the report, Bridging the Evidence Gap in Obesity Prevention: A Framework to Inform Decision Making. The report defines a new process to help decision makers use evidence when determining what actions to take as they confront the obesity epidemic and other complex public health issues.
