Commonsense Consumption Act of 2009, H.R. 812

Prohibits new, and requires dismissal of current lawsuits brought by any person against a “manufacturer, marketer, distributor, advertiser, or seller of food, or a trade association, for any injury related to a person's accumulated acts of consumption of food and weight gain, obesity, or any associated health condition.”  Exemptions include: (1) any action brought on by someone other than the person experiencing adverse health effects (2) any action brought on behalf of a person experiencing adverse health effects.
